❯ achievements

Lithuanian Olympiad in Informatics 2012

Participated in Lithuanian Olympiad in Informatics, at school level I took 3rd place and got on a national tour. However, we were forced to use the Pascal programming language and due to lack of knowledge I wasn't able to complete tasks correctly.

NFQ Academy 2015

The NFQ Academy is a 6-month theoretical and practical knowledge accelerator for software engineers. Anyone can enroll in the academy, however you need to do some tests, assignments and get among the best candidates. There are 2 chances per year, from around 500 candidates only 15 are accepted. I succeeded only the 3rd time. I successfully graduated from the academy and received an official certificate.

Winner of CopenHacks 2018

CopenHacks is a hackathon organized by Microsoft in Copenhagen, Denmark. Hundreds of passionate students come together, form teams, share ideas and build innovative applications. I came up with the idea to build a web application for matching gamers around the world based on games, skill and personal preferences. I built a team of 5 members and we spent the next 24 hours developing the app. It was challenging but the result was worth it. We took first place among 40 teams.

Best Design of ValHacks 2018

ValHacks is another hackathon organized by Microsoft. We developed a platform where gamers were able to upload highlights and challenge other players. We were trying to make our application interactive and fun to use. As a result, our application won The Best Design nomination.

❯ interests

Technologies

I just simply love my job. When I am bored, I am reading articles, watching courses, playing with Arduino or trying to automate another workflow which will save a few minutes of my life in the future. Or maybe not.

Gaming and esports

Sometimes I love to play video games but more than that I love to watch professional games. Back in the time I had my own CS:GO team and we were competing in international online tournaments as well as national LAN tournaments.

Paragliding

My life changed when I got my paragliding pilot's license in 2018. I have never felt so free and happy in my life. Since then I have been traveling and flying in Lithuania, Spain (Tenerife) and Slovenia (Tolmin). I took second place in ARCUS Light Cup and the 3rd place in Lithuanian Young Pilots League.

Ice Hockey

I discovered this amazing sport after I graduated from high school. I have been part of the HC Feniksas amateur team ever since. My player position is Right Defenseman, we improve together as a team and play in the National Amateur League. We have some achievements already but the main goal, to become league champions, has not yet been accomplished.

Astronomy and science

This universe is blowing my mind and I have the feeling like the more I learn about it, the more questions arise. I can't wait for James Webb Space Telescope launch, watching every live stream by NASA or SpaceX, excited about Black holes, Gravitational waves, Dark matter and at the same time feeling sad about Arecibo.

Chess

I tried to play Chess for the first time after reading a book How Life Imitates Chess by Garry Kasparov. I was impressed how simple and at the same time complex this game is. I am just an amateur but my favorite opening as white is The Ruy Lopez known as the Spanish Opening.
